Dallas PenguinsOn March 6th, 2010 members of the Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation recieved the Corporate Sponsor banner from Dallas Penguins Youth Hockey President Don Girard.  JAKF is one of only two corporate sponsors for this nationally known league that promotes leadership, ethics, and hard work through the hockey league from ages five through eighteen.
Chicago PAWS DonationOn March 14th, 2009 members of the Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation visited the PAWS Lincoln Park Adoption & Humane Center in Chicago.  PAWS Chicago is the city's largest No Kill humane organization.  This state-of-the-art facility, with a rooftop pet deck, offers a cageless environment for homeless pets while welcoming adopters and providing them with guidance in selecting their new pet and continued support for life.  At the end of their tour, the Foundation made a $2,500 donation to PAWS Chicago to help continue their efforts in building a No Kill Chicago - a city where pets are no longer destroyed just because they are homeless.
Dallas SPCA DonationOn March 6th, 2009 members of the Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation visited the Dallas SPCA, where they toured the current facility.  The Dallas SPCA is currently working on building a newer facility just west of their current downtown facility where they can provide a better atomosphere for the animals and adoptive families.  Thomas Kemp, JAKF Vice President, presented a check for $2,500 to SPCA President James Bias to help in their efforts.

Poker Tournament Update

Due to the current economic climate, the Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation has made the decision to postpone the next Poker Tournament until 2010.  The JAKF wishes our 2008 Poker Tournament champion, Dennis Peyton, the best of luck when he represents the Foundation at The 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, which gets underway on July 3, 2009 in Las Vegas.ker, Tournament, Fund Raiser, Casino, Roulette, Blackjack, Ft Worth, Fort Worth)
JAKF establishes UNT ScholarshipNovember 2008 - The Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation presents a $25,000 check to University of North Texas College of Business Department of Accounting Interim Chair Paul Hutchinson to permanently endow an Accounting Scholarship in the University of North Texas Foundation.
JAKF establishes UT ScholarshipAugust 21, 2008 - The JAKF inks deal with The University of Texas McCombs School of Business to establish the 'Jennifer A Kemp Memorial Scholarship' with a starting endowment of $25,000.   This will provide financial aid to business students in their third and fourth year of study.
2008 Poker Tournament

The 2008 Poker Tournament was a big success with over 60 participants, which raised $15,000 for the foundation.  Planning is already underway for the 2009 Poker Tournament!

I.R.C. Section 501(c)(3)

Application Approved!

The Jennifer A. Kemp Foundation received notification from the Internal Revenue Service that its application for exempt status under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) has been approved.  The effective date of the exempt status is September 19, 2007. 
Fundraising ActivitiesThrough the Deloitte United Way auction, many of Jennifer's Deloitte colleagues directed their contributions to the JAK Foundation.  The result was a total donation exceeding $40,000.
Fundraising ActivitiesThe JAK Foundation received a generous donation from the Texans Credit Union of $10,000.
Fundraising Activities

The Deloitte London office held two fundraising events, successfully raising approximately $3,000.  The first event was a Pub Quiz and the second event was a "Wig of Woe" auction, where the highest bidder was able to select certain individuals to wear some interesting head wear.
